Project Offices Evaluate Nine-Month Performance Across Departments

The Addis Ababa City Administration’s Office for the Construction of Major Projects has conducted a nine-month performance evaluation for the 2017 Ethiopian fiscal year (2024/2025) across several departments including Construction, Administration and Finance, and Business Development.

On March 25, 2025, the Construction and the Administration & Finance departments assessed their performance achievements. During the evaluation, Deputy Head of the Engineering Department, Engineer Etenesh Abebe, stated that both ongoing and newly launched projects are progressing in terms of quality, time, and cost. She emphasized that the project office is strengthening coordination with stakeholders, consultants, and contractors, ensuring efficient management and timely delivery of construction works.

Engineer Etenesh highlighted that increased focus is being given to completing active projects and ensuring they are handed over successfully.

Meanwhile, Mr. Wosen Megra, who leads the Administration and Finance Department, reported that the department has made notable progress over the past nine months. Improvements have been recorded in human resource management, creating a conducive work environment, and ensuring satisfaction among clients and professionals. The department also aims to continue addressing key Information Technology operations and other pending tasks with special attention in the coming months.

On March 26, 2025, the Business Development Department also conducted its nine-month performance evaluation with professionals and stakeholders. The evaluation revealed that both government-private partnerships and collaborative efforts have contributed to significant progress on ongoing and new projects. The department has recorded improvements through close monitoring and support, enabling notable outcomes.

According to Deputy Head of the Department, Mr. Kasahun Alemu, several new project ideas have been initiated and are being implemented under collaborative frameworks. He noted that coordination with contractors, consultants, stakeholders, and institutions has ensured that projects are being completed within their designated timeframe, quality standards, and budget allocations.

Overall, the evaluation sessions reaffirmed the importance of continued collaboration, timely monitoring, and responsive management to maintain momentum and deliver tangible results across all departments of the Project Office.
